How to Add New Email Templates in Shopware 6?

Shopware 6 provides a robust system for managing email templates, allowing you to customize and tailor your communication with customers. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the steps to add email templates in Shopware 6, ensuring that your messages align with your brand and effectively convey important information to your customers.

Step 1: Accessing the Email Template Management

1. Log in to your Shopware 6 administration panel.

2. Navigate to “Settings” and select “Email Templates link” from the dropdown menu.

Step 2: Creating a New Email Template

1. Once in the Email Templates section, There is an add button with the drop-down as add email template.

2. Choose a template type (e.g.Customer registration, order confirmation etc.)

3. Enter the description

4. Optionally, specify a custom subject for your email template.

6. In the mail text section, it has two fields, plain text and HTML. In plain text, you need to fill only the code without HTML

7. Save your changes.

Step 3: Customising Email Templates

1. After saving your template, you can further customise it by adding variables and placeholders. These placeholders will automatically pull relevant information from your Shopware 6 store, such as customer name, order details, and more.

2. Preview your template to ensure it looks as expected.

3. Save your changes.

Step 4: Assigning Email Templates to Flow Builder

1. To ensure your email templates are sent at the right time, you need to assign them to the flow builder

2. Navigate to “Settings” and select “Flow Builder.”

3. Create a new Flow

Enter the flow name and make it active

Then in the Flow tab Select an event such as “Checkout / Order / Placed” in the Trigger select field.

You can add conditions and actions.
For conditions, you can add already defined rules.
For action, you can select send email. Then in the popup that comes you choose the created “Email template” under the Email template field.
