How to create a Custom Homepage in Shopware 6

In this guide, we’ll explore the options available for creating a dynamic and engaging homepage for your online shop using various layouts provided by Shopware 6. By incorporating different category layouts, you can make your store diverse and captivating.

Creating a Layout

  1. Navigate to Content > Shopping Experiences and initiate the creation of a new layout by clicking on the “Create new layout” button.
  2. Choose the type of layout you want to create. For a category/listing page, select “Listing page.”
  3. Define the structure of your layout, which can be adjusted later. Choose a section type for your type. There are two options available in it. Sidebar and Full width you can choose between them.
  4. Design your layout by adding elements. Click on the plus icon to add new elements. For instance, select the sidebar or explore other block categories and objects. Refer to the layout editor documentation for detailed information on available options.
  5. Specify the elements you want to include in your layout. In this example, the product filter has been chosen.
  6. Drag and drop the selected block element onto your layout. Adjust its position as needed.
  7. Once your layout is complete, save it by clicking on the “Save” button.

 Assigning Layouts to Categories

  1. Go to Catalogues > Categories to assign the created layout to a category.
  2. Under the “Layout” tab, find the appearance of your chosen category. Use the “Assign Layout” section to select the layout you created in Shopping Experiences.
  3. Optionally, click on the “Create New Layout” button to navigate to the Shopping Experiences editor to create a new layout directly. -is it there is category page, can you double check it
  4. Once a layout is selected, the Layout area displays all segments of the chosen shopping experiences. Modify the content directly without switching to shopping experiences for each category.

Duplicating and Customizing Layouts

If you want to use the same layout for multiple landing pages with different content:

  1. Navigate to Content > Shopping Experiences.
  2. Click on the three dots next to the desired layout and select “Duplicate.”
  3. Now, you have an exact copy of your original layout, which can be modified and assigned as needed.

By following these steps, you can efficiently design and customise your homepage, the layout can be set to the the category page, landing page etc.
